How does
CDM Work?

Before implementation of a CDM project, the GHG emission baseline in calculated at business as usual, and after implementation of the technology the GHG emission reductions can be calculated by internationally recognized methods.

In theory, the CDM works like this:

An investor from an industrial country, or an industrialized country Government, can invest in, or provide finance for, a project in a developing country that reduced GHG emissions form the current business as usual baseline. The investor then receives credit – carbon credits – for the reductions of the project implemented.
The Road to Paris 2015, aims to convene a group of globally influential, progressive and impactful organizations, leaders and other stakeholders that will:
  • Promote green economy based on public and private collaborations
  • Showcase solutions to climate change to the UNFCCC and to key national and local Governments
  • Create the right positive narratives for Governments, Businesses and Financiers
