UAE State of Energy Report 2017

The UAE State of Energy 2017 Report, is a recognized source of knowledge within the national energy sector. Published by the UAE Ministry of Energy, under the patronage of HE Eng. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, the annual publication is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The report is a compendium of success stories from public and private institutions within the energy sector, and is used by national leading CEOs, governmental and policy leaders and international decision makers, both as a platform for expressing opinions and as a key source of insight. The 2017 edition focuses on the future of the energy sector within the UAE and the best practices that should be implemented to ensure that. The publication highlights the UAE’s vision towards the evolution of the energy sector within the country, and discusses the efforts of entities across the region to achieve that vision.

State of Green Economy Report 2016: Innovation on its mind, and in its pages

This edition's content is divided by areas of green economic development, connected through one common theme: INNOVATION.
Our interpretation of innovation ranges from technologies over to mind shifts, connecting thoughts and overall fundamentally re–thinking common practice, lifestyle, the way of doing business. Each chapter will open with a remarkable innovator and continue with a leading article from the United Nations - network and business leaders. Together with our partners, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) and United Nations agencies, the report explores initiatives for economic growth and diversification, youth empowerment and employment, how to power lives, sustainable natural and urban environments, creativity and research, lifestyle and consumption as well as other possible enablers and partnerships.
We invite you to Dubai to exchange knowledge and spread ideas. Join us at the World Green Economy Summit on 5th – 6th October 2016 under the theme: Global Partnerships, Sustainable Future. And take a look at the State of Green Economy Report 2016.

The report's content is divided into eight chapters: areas of green economy development, connected through one common theme: KNOWLEDGE – which can drive sustainable development in the right direction.

The transition to a green economy is not a journey into the unknown; the globally accepted UN Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals is well-defined. The targets are clear. A better understanding of climate change helps deliver specific solutions. Technology and Innovation are at the forefront of the journey; Smart is now Sustainable. The sustained green growth will reflect not only positively on the environment and ecosystems but also create a positive social impact. Each chapter opens with a thought leader and continues to highlight the remarkable contributions of individuals and entities, in knowledge-sharing and building partnerships towards a New Frontier.

Dubai State of Energy Report 2014

The Dubai State of Energy Report 2014 is the product of an ongoing cooperation between the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Dubai Carbon. The publication was presented in December 2013 in the United Nations Headquarters in New York by His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of DSCE and Helen Clark, Administrator of UNDP. The publication was the first of its kind and laid the foundation for all knowledge products that followed.

State of Sustainability : UAE 2016

The adoption of the 2030 Agenda represents countries' commitments to achieve the SDG's domestically and align foreign development assistance activities to support attainment of SDG's in other countries. The UAE is on track to meet most of these goals before 2030 because of the country's high development level and existing strategies. The focus will therefore be on establishing a framework to monitor and report progress.

The State of Green Economy Report presents the discourse & findings of the annual World Green Economy Summit as one of the commitments of the Dubai Declaration. The annual report indexes UAE's green economic developments by highlighting the painstaking efforts on the one hand, meanwhile, offering a platform for research and replicable success stories to international experts & thought leaders. For the contributing entities the publication provides an opportunity to showcase the success stories, products, projects & network with government and private entities alike through various events such as the World Green Economy Summit, regular roundtables on green economy and the launch event for the report.

The Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has been making considerable efforts to manage their energy and resource consumption since 2008, long before most other UAE entities and before any legislative requirements were in place. "The Report Energy & Efficiency - The Story so Far" showcases this progress in the form of a journalistic product developed by Dubai Carbon in cooperation with all involved departments and teams.
